Ranchers and the consumers of bison meat are responsible for saving this great American mammal. Bison were almost extinct a hundred years ago due to the inhumane treatment of this majestic animal. Thankfully, farmers across the United States began to raise this iconic animal, and today, there are now over 500,000 of these graceful creatures.
