Several days ago, we posted about how our bison survive the frigid winter temperatures. Today, we went running with shorts on! We at Buck Wild Bison love to run, but the winter usually limits our ability to get out and enjoy the beautiful mountain trails that we have in West Virginia. Today was the exception; temperatures were over 60 degrees. We were able to get out and run.
It's been a while since we ran (I wouldn't brag about our times), but it was awesome. Breathing in the fresh air and watching the wildlife (e.g., geese, deer, squirrels, etc.) go about their business was worth the effort. It's exhilarating to push your body past what it is used to, and prove to yourself what you are capable of.
Before heading out for a run, we always fuel up with some Buck Wild Bison snack sticks or jerky. No, we don't just do this because we raise bison; we do it because research says it helps! Runners eat bison. Bison is low in fat and high in protein--a great combo for runners. Bison is high in iron, zinc and certain B vitamins, including vitamin B 12 and niacin. And to top it off, it's ILLEGAL to give bison antibiotics and growth hormones. Now that's Buck Wild!
Stock up on our snack sticks and jerky, and win your next 5k run. We'd LOVE to hear how Buck Wild Bison helped you bring home the gold. Let us know how you did. Remember: Runners Eat Bison!
